The plan to begin taking down trees for an expanded Memphis Zoo parking lot is on hold again, according to Memphis City Council member Jeff Warren.
Warren told The Daily Memphian Wednesday, Nov. 3, plans have been stopped for now to begin bringing down trees on the Overton Park greensward in January for the expanded and reconfigured Zoo parking lot. . .
The new talks Warren is involved in are around finding some combination of additional public and private funding for a parking garage generally.
That could mean a new parking compromise including a garage or deck of some kind or trying to close the gap between the $3 million raised so far and the full cost of some kind of parking structure.
