Constructed in 1922, the Almadura stands as a striking example of historic architecture in Memphis, showcasing classic architectural style and design hallmarks like high ceilings, original hardwood floors, elaborate crown molding, and vintage-style kitchens and fixtures. Despite its charming facade, the building has faced serious challenges in recent years. Tenants had reported hazardous conditions such as bricks falling from the façade, mold infestations, and debris-strewn staircases. The building sold to a new owner in 2020, but as of now, the vacant building sits boarded up, suffering from neglect.
