History: This district is bounded by Stonewall and Evergreen Streets to the west and east, Vollintine Avenue to the south, and Cypress Creek to the north. Recommendations of the National Resources Planning Board were influential in the design of this development, as was the nearby Cypress Creek floodplain. Dlugach brothers Ben and Harry were active developers in this neighborhood. Vollintine Evergreen Avalon HD is one of the four NR-listed Vollintine historic districts that now make up collectively the Vollintine Evergreen Community Association or VECA as a Historic Overlay District.
