DESCRIPTION:Preservation Posse Tour: Explore the Memphis Masonic Temple with Memphis Heritage! \nJoin the Preservation Posse for an exclusive tour of the Memphis Masonic Temple at 272 Court Avenue. Built in 1914\, the Neo-Classical style Masonic Temple was designed by architects Walk C. Jones and Max Furbringer and reflected a period when the Masonic Fraternity was growing significantly in popularity. Rich in architectural detail\, Masonic symbols appear throughout the ornate building - from stained-glass windows and doorknobs to floors and other decorative elements. \nDoors Open at 6:00pm.  Tour Begins at 6:45pm. \nStreet parking is available on Court Avenue. \nThis is a members only event. \nNote the building is not ADA compliant.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next Preservation Posse Tour of Phillips Cottage at Elmwood Cemetery on April 23rd. \nDoors open at 5:30pm. Tour begins at 6:00pm. \nTHIS IS A MEMBERS ONLY EVENT.  \nLIMITED SPACE DUE TO THE SIZE OF PHILLIPS COTTAGE. \nElmwood Cemetery’s Phillips Cottage\, now home to Elmwood’s Visitor Center and offices\, was originally built in 1866. In 1902\, it was expanded with a charming parlor\, a brick vault\, and a welcoming front porch. Today\, it stands as the only known example of Victorian Carpenter Gothic architecture in Memphis\, making it a rare architectural treasure. Recognized for its cultural and historical significance\, the Phillips Cottage was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22\, 1978. \n
