Calling all artists, architects, woodworkers, designers, engineers and creative types to dash for your door to participate in Memphis Heritage’s 2017 Adapt-A-Door Design Competition!

The 2017 Door Dash will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10-11:30 am at Howard Hall

Whether you’re a veteran Door Artist or interested in becoming one, here’s how it works:

First, you decide you want to let your creative side go wild and enter MHI’s 2017 Adapt-A-Door Design competition. You register for the event, and enjoy donuts and coffee as you pick out your door (or window) of choice at the Dunkin’ Donuts Door Dash on Saturday, May 13th from 10 to 11:30 am at Howard Hall.

After browsing the extensive collection of doors and windows salvaged from historic homes throughout Memphis, you recycle and transform your find into a fabulous work of art. Your masterpiece will be auctioned off at the Adapt a Door “9” Auction and Party at Howard Hall on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Cost to enter the competition is $20.00 per door. For the $20.00 commitment fee you will receive 2 tickets ($100 value) to the “Door Auction” party and an annual Craftsman Level MHI Membership ($100 value). Scholarships are available for the commitment, feel free to inquire.

Not interested in re-purposing a salvaged door or window? You may create a door from your own materials, using any medium of any size. If you use your own medium to create your Door Art, you too will receive 2 tickets to our AAD event and the annual membership to MHI. We still need for you to register as a 2017 Door Artist.

The only limitation is your imagination!
