The Walter Granville Allen House was placed on the National Register on Feb. 23, 1990.

History: This home belonged to Walter Granville Allen, a prominent planter, banker, businessman and political leader in Shelby County and the Cordova area. Succumbing to fire in 1913, the original home was replaced with the existing structure in the late months of 1913 and the early months of 1914. This home is possibly the only formally-designed residence in the Cordova community that still retains historic design integrity. Today it hosts the Pastille Salon & Spa.

ADDITONAL DOCUMENTATION: (approved Feb. 3, 2023): This additional documentation corrects the original boundary map of the Walter Granville Allen House, which identified the wrong parcel.
