The Overton Parkway Historic District was placed on the National Register on Nov. 18, 1999.

History: Overton Parkway Historic District displays superb examples of fine high-style architect-designed eclectic residences of the early twentieth century. It is associated with several local architects – George Shaw, Everett Woods, and Jones and Furbringer among others – as well as prominent owners such as Abe Goodman, R.E. Lee, and the Pidgeon family.
