The John M. Fleming Home Place was placed on the National Register on Dec. 6, 1990.

History: The John M. Fleming Home Place is a well-preserved example of a transitional Greek Revival / Italianate plantation home dating from ca. 1850. The surrounding farm contains a collection of agricultural tenant houses, outbuildings, and physical land features that offer a rare opportunity for insight into agricultural life in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in western Tennessee, including the transition from slavery to the sharecropping system through the 1960s.
