Dash for your Door for Adapt-A-Door & More!

After a Decade of Doors, we’re switching things up.

Memphis Heritage’s annual Adapt-A-Door Fundraiser brings large crowds to Howard Hall for the exciting silent auction of artwork and furniture created by local artists, architects, woodworkers and preservation enthusiasts using salvaged doors and windows. Creative works combined with pub grub, drinks and live music lead to an annual auction event like no other that embodies the preservation of our architectural heritage.

In honor of our 10th Annual Adapt-A-Door Fundraiser, we’re expanding our chosen media from doors and windows, to architectural salvage of any kind!  Have on old column capital that would make a great table base? Dying to make a sculpture out of historic hinges? This is your year. Additionally, to alleviate the strain of taking on an entire door or other dauntingly large object, we will have several small panels taken from interior doors up for “adapting”.

The auction will be held November 3, 2018, but participating “Door Artists” are invited to choose their architectural item to repurpose at our Door Dash on May 5, 2018.

This year’s Door Dash will be held at Memphis Heritage’s new architectural salvage storefront, Heritage Building Supply! Come dash for your door (and more) to adapt on Saturday, May 5 from 10:00 am -12:30 pm. Explore Heritage Building Supply’s extensive inventory of architectural salvage to find something special for this year’s Adapt-A-Door & More event. Start your weekend off right with music from the Memphis Second Line Jazz Band + coffee + donuts from Gibson’s + mimosas + a piece of Memphis history to adapt!
