The Residential Rehabilitation Award, for the restoration or
rehabilitation of a multi-family residence, including the adaptive re-use
of commercial or industrial buildings for residential use, is presented
to the Hotline Building, 421 S. Main St., rehabilitated as loft
apartments by Garland Company Real Estate, with renovation design by TRO/The
Ritchie Organization and construction by Bryan Construction Company.
The Institutional / Public Building Award, for the
preservation, rehabilitation or restoration of a museum, church, synagogue,
school or government building, is presented to the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception, 1695 Central Ave., owned by the Catholic Diocese of Memphis,
renovation design by Williamson Pounders Architects, construction by Hecht
Construction Company, liturgical consultation by Rev. Dick Vosco, additional
consultant services by Rev. Bruce Cinquegrani, Deacon Chuck Wells and Mike
Watermeier.
The New Construction Award recognizes compatible new construction within a historic context and is presented to Presley Place, 701 St. Paul Ave., owned and developed by MIFA, designed by Looney Ricks Kiss Architects, construction by Patton & Taylor Enterprises, LLC, landscape design by Dalhoff, Thomas, Daws.
The Compatible Addition Award honors
the best compatible addition to a historic residential, commercial
or public building. This year's winners are the Law Offices
of Burch Porter & Johnson, 130 N. Court, design by Williamson
Pounders Architects, construction by Inman Construction Corp., engineering
by Jamnu Tahiliani and Associates and JMW Engineering, and
St. Peter Church and St. Martin de Porres Shrine, 190 Adams, design
by Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects, construction by S. Webster Haining
Co.
The
Special Achievement Award
The Special Achievement Award is given for excellence in:
engineering relating to the preservation, rehabilitation, or restoration
of a structure, or; the investigation of archeological sites, or; a specific
noteworthy component of a restoration project. This year the award is
presented to TRO/The Ritchie Organization for the interior design
of their offices at Pembroke Square, 119 S. Main Street, Suite 200,
interior design by TRO, construction by Metro Construction Co.
The Anona Stoner Award is given for the restoration,
preservation or rehabilitation of a historic landscape. The award was
presented to the historic garden
at 1801 Vinton, established by Dr. and Mrs. Robin Mason and restored
by Pat and Darrell Eldred, and
the Wright Carriage House garden,
688 Jefferson, designed by Design 500, Inc. and John Griffin, with
Greg Touliatos and Associates serving as landscape contractor.
The Save Our Historic Outbuildings (SOHO) Award is
be given for the rehabilitation and re-use of historic garages and backhouses
and is presented to the Wright Carriage House, 688 Jefferson, rehabilitation
design by Design 500, Inc.
