Annual Meeting to be Held at the Power House

The 2003 Memphis Heritage Annual Membership meeting will be held on March 25, at 6 p.m. at the Power House, lo­cated on C. E. Patterson Avenue, just west of Central Station in the South Main Street Historic District. The meeting will begin with a “meet and greet” at 6 p.m. The business meeting, including board nominations and elections, will be­gin at 6:30. Memphis Heritage members are encouraged to attend the meeting, which will include nomination and election of new board members.

Current members of the MH ex­ecutive committee will be nomi­nated to fill another one-year term in office, including: William Chandler as President, Debbi Foshee as Vice President, Jim Lutz as Secretary, Susan Caldwell as Treasurer; John Griffin as Past President. Board members who have resigned or will rotate off the board include Paula Casey, Susan Mackenzie, Brian Mar­tin, Shelton McGhee Jr., and Michael Reeves. Confirmed new board nominees include Gene Burr, Spehen Hawks and Carl Raff.

Memphis Heritage executive director, June West, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for MH members to meet the board and staff and learn about our ongoing activities and programs. Current and prospective members are urged to come and see this spectacular new art space on South Main.”

The Power House has recently become the home of Delta Axis, a nonprofit arts organization that promotes regional and national artists. James Patterson,  president of Delta Axis, and Coleman Coker, the architect in charge of the building’s renovation, will be present.
