Did you know that Uptown started as Memphis' first suburb? That South Main condos used to be warehouses? That the gazebo in Cooper-Young is where streetcars turned around? Join MHI as it presents Great Neighborhoods I, the first in a series highlighting the history and evolution of the diverse and historically important neighborhoods that continue to make their mark on our city.

March 7th: “The First Developed Neighborhood in Memphis: Greenlaw and
the Pinch” Presented by John Griffin, Residential Design Consultant

March 14th: “Downtown Commercial & Residential Merchants:
Highlighting the Revitialization of these Neighborhoods and
Buildings” Presented by John Shepherd/John Harkins-Historians

March 21st “Cooper-Young: Offering A little Bit of Everything”
Presented by Professor Randle Witherington, NCIDQ registered
Interior Designer, Coordinator of the Interior Design Program,
University of Memphis

March 28th: “Evolution of Gardens in Historic Neighborhoods”
Presented by Suzanne Askew, Askew Design Solutions
